NBC was established in 1998 to provide a forum for Regional Managed Behavioral Healthcare Organizations (MBHO) and EAP companies to implement initiatives which promote the vitality of regional MBHO's and EAP's and to positively impact healthcare and managed care issues through advocacy at the national level. Collectively, these MBHO's provide services to approximately 11 million beneficiaries and have more than 10,000 providers in their combined EAP / MBHO networks.
Each year NBC hosts three meetings in different locations throughout the country. The meetings provide a two day track for CEO's and Clinical / QI staff to network with colleagues and collaborate on shared initiatives.
The Business Group meetings focus on industry trends, best practices in the administration of MBHO and EAP services and advocacy with organizations such as URAC and NCQA.
The Clinical Group meetings focus on a broad range of initiatives and formal studies which include collaborative efforts on Disease Management, Utilization Management, the introduction of new technologies and Quality Improvement Activities.
